Founded on the campus of Oklahoma State University on November 27, 1919, Kappa Kappa Psi is a guiding light with which band students can grow, learn, and develop themselves and their band programs. Kappa Kappa Psi is an organization of opportunity and quality, brimming with historic, well-developed leadership and membership programming that students use to become great leaders, better band members and better adapted young adults prepared for what lies ahead of them.
The Fraternity is presently located at over 200 colleges and universities with 5,000 active members each year. Since 1919, more than 50,000 interested bandmembers have devoted their efforts to strengthening their bands through group and individual service projects. The Fraternity’s program of continued service to Music has attracted the attention of the best in American band tradition. We number among our ranks John Philip Sousa, John Denver, Karl King, Frank Simon, Bill Clinton, Chuck Norris, Herbert L. Clarke, Ray Charles, Harold Bachman, William D. Revelli and many other contemporary composers, conductors and music educators.
